Several business owners and operators decided to find a way to improve the general infrastructure of this older industrial area so that crime and blight would not continue to grow.
By engaging civic and community leaders associated with the area, the Oakwood Heights Business Association has been able to bring attention to unpaved roads, abandoned homes, non-working street lights, and other societal ills that impact the main corridors of Oakwood Heights and its adjacent areas.

Founded in a place that has been home to industry and business since the 1900’s, the Oakwood Heights Business Association embodies a tradition of dedication, service, and goodwill. .

This sentiment harkens back to the early entrepreneurs who transformed Detroit from a western outpost in the late 1800’s to the Arsenal of Democracy of the 20th Century.
